NHL Canadiens vs. Nashville Predators

Montreal Hockey - Game Analysis

Montreal Hockey - NHL Canadiens vs. Nashville Predators - The Montreal Canadiens are in Nashville to face the Predators after their win against the Phoenix Coyotes. Montreal has a 9-10-0 record and they are putting up the play to prove it.

At the very least, they managed to shoe some sign of life on the power play going 2 for 2 against Phoenix. This is after scoring only once in 16 chances in the last 6 games. The defense played quasi well limiting the shots against to 20. That being said, the Canadiens only had 19 shots for.

There are no quick remedies for the Canadiens woes and they are definitely not going to come out of their slump anytime soon. The team is just not jiving and the countless turnovers game after game are not getting remedied. Although Andrei Markov will help, not even he will be enough to fix the countless gaping holes in the lineup. Anybody else wondering why Scott Gomez is paid that ridiculous salary? His earnings/turnover ratio is great!

At least they look forward to the struggling Nashville Predators. Nothing like the PReds to give you a two game winning streak!

NHL Canadiens vs. Predators

Montreal Hockey - Game Analysis

Montreal Hockey - NHL Canadiens Game Preview - Thursday Jan. 15 at 7:30 P.M. EST - The Montreal Canadiens host the Nashville Predators at the Bell Centre. The Canadiens are coming off a well fought losing battle to the Boston Bruins. They dominated the Bruins in the first and got into heavy penalty trouble in the second where Boston took control of the game. Some miraculous saves by Tim Thomas in the third meant the Canadiens would lose 3-1. Now they are facing the Nashville Predators who have been .500 on the season consistently throughout (meaning they have no streak going). The Canadiens, being the better team should put these 2 points in the bank. Montreal captain Saku Koivu, who sat out against Boston for obvious reasons, should be back  in the line-up against the Predators. Although, the team is doing well, we will welcome him back!

Montreal Hockey - Game Recap - Nashville domainted the scond and third period but didn’t manage to come up with the game tying goal. The Canadiens stole 2 points and won it 3-2. After a solid 1st period from the Canadiens, they decided they were going to take the hard working Predators lightly. And when you play with fire you’re going to get burned. Lucky for te Canadiens, the Predators ran out of time before the habs could get burned. Another power play goal for the habs making it 4 games in a row. Nashville had nothing to lose against a better team and came out with lots of heart and grit. They deserved the win, but lucky for us the Canadiens kept it. Hey, we have to get some luck on our side too! Is anyone else tired of watching the Kostitsyns play like they are the only two players on the ice? The Canadiens play the Ottawa Senators on Saturday.
