NHL Canadiens vs. Colorado Avalanche

Montreal Hockey - Game Analysis

Montreal Hockey - NHL Canadiens vs. Avalanche - The Montreal Canadiens are finally coming home after a long road start to the season (2-3-0). The habs are on a 3 game losing streak after winning the first two of the season unconvincingly.

In what was probably one of their stronger performances against the Edmonton Oilers, the Canadiens came up short after a few lousy turnovers led to goals for the Oilers.

The Canadiens have called up Shawn Belle who will be making his debut tomorrow. They have been absolutely horrible in defense. They have a set of defensemen that are slow, have trouble shooting on the power play and are simply not getting the job done.

Standing out from the pack of defense is Josh Gorges who is playing his heart out with Andrei Markov gone for months. He has been a leader on the blue line and has helped offensively as well. Yannick Weber’s tenure in the NHL has again taken a hit as he was sent back to Hamilton. He just doesn’t have the size and experience needed to help the Canadiens.

Colorado is playing suprisingly well and it won’t get any easier for the habs at home. Although, it’s nice to have them back in our building.
